ALRIGHT FRAGHEADS HERE IS HANDSOME DEVIL
Having explored the Grooming Lounge shave suite of products, I was converted! So when I saw that gorgeous red bottle called Handsome Devil, it immediately went on my wish list.
As per the Grooming Lounge…
TOP: Red Grapefruit, Italian Cedrat, Red Cranberry
HEART: Red Saffron, Lavandin, Red Sage
BASE: Red Wood, Amber, Coffee Berry
You see it too ,right?! This scent palette description made me want it even more.
The only 2 elements here I wasn’t familiar with were cedrat and lavandin. Cedrat is sweet citrus lemon, while lavandin is essentially a strong lavender.
So how does it all come across? First off, this is a rich and potent arrangement. When you wear this, you want people to notice.
As it is often the case, my nose has an easier time identifying the base notes. The wood, amber sweetness and magical coffee is supporting everything else. Then the saffron and lavender are wrapping things up with a every so slight touch of sweet fruit on top. The lavender is very present and serves a bit as a base offering a dark/ edgy herbal foundation.
I personally find that lavender is a bit like patchouli where Perfumers use it as way to make the sum of the arrangement, real. Giving the whole thing a slightly dirty/naughty vibe.
DURATION
My 2-3 sprays were enough for me to feel like a Handsome Devil for 5-6 hours.

TAKEAWAY
For me, Handsome Devil fit’s in the classic space of men’s fragrance. It’s elegant and mischievous. Up to some extent it reminded me of Ralph Lauren’s Polo without the bitterness of leather or the rigidity of that brand. It’s way more fun!
