Every Man Jack Activated Charcoal Deodorant – A natural winner
With the warmer months coming, I am reminded of perpetual challenge: under arm sweat. It is something I dislike and struggle with. For the longest part of my life, I used various antiperspirant sticks. Although they manage to keep me dry, they ruined a good number of shirts and I constantly remained concerned about the aluminum salt contents of their concoctions.
About two years ago I came across an antiperspirant spray from Dove that performed wonders at keeping me dry and also did not damage my shirts. The aluminum salt was still present, but I wasn’t finding that perfect match.
My concerns with aluminum salts continued to grow as I became more educated about the number of chemically related skin and health issues directly linked to beauty/grooming products. This convinced me to try a natural deodorant which had a number of skin rock stars like Shea butter and coconut oil. It also had a fantastic sweet orange smell. That said, on a warm summer day, it did very little to keep me dry, in fact I was soaked, but smelt pretty darn fine. After all, this product claimed no other than to keep me smelling decent which it did.
All of this left me on my thirst for a proper solution. As part of my partnership with Every Man Jack, I was offered to try out their natural deodorant. As pleased as I was to be asked to try it out, I repeated my above story. I also indicated that I would rather not try something that would most likely just end in a bad review. The folks at Every Man Jack did not try to convince me otherwise and simply sent me the stick anyways. We can assume that they were pretty confident that I would like it.
After looking at the stick a number of times, I said alright: I am going to try you out! Based on my previous tests with similar products I had no illusions or hopes that this would be different.
This product is pretty much like any other deodorant stick. It looks the same and feels the same, but the big thing is that there are no aluminum salts. I applied under my arms after the morning shower and off I went. So how did the day go from there, you ask? I will say that it didn’t cross my mind once after that. I wasn’t sweating and I didn’t stink, so I didn’t think about it until maybe 5 PM. Then it dawned on me – I’m dry and I used a natural deodorant. How can that be?!?
I told myself that it was a cold day and that this wasn’t really a good test. If we apply some negative logic to that statement, we could simply concluded that it is viable to use a natural deodorant for about 8 months a year when the weather is colder and thus reduce our exposure to aluminum salts for the better part of the year. You would then only use a chemical antiperspirant for the remaining 4 colder months.

But I decided to try this deodorant sporadically throughout the following weeks and every time I came to the same realization – I completely forgot about it because nothing happened to make me feel like I was unprotected. I remained dry and smelling as decent as possible. For a sweater like me this is a big thing.
Activated charcoal is a big thing now-a-days and you can find it in numerous face washes, body washes and toothpastes. It’s pretty amazing to also find it in a such a successfully deodorant application.
Every now and then there are products I get to try out that I simply don’t see coming. This is one of them and I thrilled that I was made aware of this product since it totally changed my mind on what a natural deodorant can be. This also reminds me that Every Man Jack is not about being flashy, but rather about providing top level solution for every man in the simplest of ways.
